That's funny. You either have a lot of spare time today, or you REALLY follow ALL of college football!
If the Suckeyes were in a real conference they would never be bowl eligible. Of course that would have saved them the humiliation of back to back beat downs in the MNC game. Savor your conference wins, because that's the only so called significant wins you get. Next season LSU will be back in the national championship hunt while OSU will be looking for another bowl team to lay down in front of. You need to read more from around the football world instead of your homer news. OSU is looked at as a joke in a joke of a conference.
Bottom line is no matter what we think, no matter how much USC and Utah cry, no matter how much Texas screams; UF is the National champs. They have the Crystall Ball and the Voters polls. That is how it should be. It is the system we have, and until it changes BS AP National Champs( like USC) got in 2003 will continue to be an arguement. Unfortunately for the USC's of the college football world it appears the voters don't want that fiasco to happen again. Until the Pac-10 and the Big-10 decide to join in and play a Conf Champ game, I still don't see a playoff system being put in place.
sure they do. but you can't just pick one upset out of a season and say it's enough to project anything after that. College Football doesn't work like that. If USC and Oregon State played each other another handful of times, I think USC would win most of them. I haven't seen anywhere near enough of Utah to say how they would fare against anyone else, but I dam sure ain't gonna look at one Box Score against Oregon St, and automatically assume that Utah would beat every team Oregon St. beat.
I hope that one day we do get a playoff, because karma dictates that SC will get their asses bounced in the first round.
But the point is, that information is significant, and should be weighed, especially in a final ranking (heavily in a final ranking).
