I agree with this for the most part and I'm sure it gets tired hearing about it all the time if your team is not in the SEC. On offense, this is surely holds true. Most of the top teams from BCS conferences have tons of speed at the skill positions. However, I think where the SEC speed separates itself is on defense. Most teams (USC excluded) do not commit or have that type of speed on defense. That's part of what makes SEC defenses so good.
Psst. Your ignorance is showing. Laron had those numbers until he worked out for the NFL. I can promise you that Mays doesn't run a 4.28/40 either. If you want to hang around a couple months for the NFL combine, I'll prove it to you. Those numbers don't matter nearly as much as instincts do. Tebucky Jones had Mays' size and speed and his career in the NFL was far from spectacular.
Pssst. Wrong, Landry is 6'0" 202 lbs. That's a far cry from 6'3" and 228 lbs. Mays speed is real. Tebucky Jones is a fair comparison. As far as hanging around goes, I've been on this board for a while. Not planning on going anywhere.
It seems like after the bowl season you would at least do like your team and be silent for a little while. Let's start a new discussion, which bowl game are the suckeyes going to lose next year?:hihi::hihi::hihi:
You missed the part where I mention that stuff changes after working out for the Pros, but no it's not a far cry.
Wow, impressive response. How's 8-5 treating you? Now go sit in your corner and do what you asked me to do. With all due respect.
We're going to have to agree to disagree. I believe that there's a huge difference between linebacker size at safety and traditional safety size at safety with the same (or similar) speed. Peace.
:crystal::crystal::crystal::crystal::crystal::crystal::crystal::crystal::crystal::crystal::crystal::crystal::crystal::crystal::crystal::crystal::crystal::crystal::crystal::crystal:And 4-0 in bowl games under Miles. Every now and then you are going to have a down year when you play in a real football conference. Come back and talk after your team actually wins a game against a real team.
The Buckeyes were 7-1 in conference. The differences between conferences are nowhere near as large as you believe. LSU was 3-5 in conference play this season. Coming off a NC, that's more than a down year. Why is it "every now and then" works for an entire season but 1 loss in conference such as USC v Oregon St or Ohio St v Penn St is such a superior argument? If it weren't for Appy St, North Texas, and Tulane, LSU wouldn't even have been bowl eligible. Are those REAL teams?
