Or rather lack of attendance. With all the complaining of our fans leaving early, it might be good to put it into perspective that at least our fans actually showed up to the game. Check out USC's crowd against Boston College last Saturday...Pathetic for an upper tier program but LA is known for its fairweather fans. FYI, this was 8 minutes before kickoff.
Can you blame them? I mean, who in the hell wants to go and get bombarded with that one song that the band plays over and over and over and over and over and over and aaaaaaagghhh just make it stop!!! That is the sole reason that I can never watch them on TV. For a city so deeply entrenched in the entertainment industry, you'd think their band would be worth a shit.
It's a huge stadium but if there was any passion they could fill it easy. LA area fans are notorious. A third of them show up late and a third of them leave early, if their team's having a bad year they abandon ship.
In all fairness, they did announce that they had over 60,000 ultimately show up. Obviously, many of the 60,000 showed up late. Nevertheless, your point is well taken, as that 60,000 was the lowest attendance for a USC home game within the last ten years.
