USC's trophy room lost a Heisman and now they lose the only crystal they had. sweet i wonder how soon until the crystal is physically removed from their trophy room?
AP has announced it will not strip USC of their trophy because, in AP's mind, they still had a championship season. I guess cheating does not matter. Just another hit on AP's credibility.
I had to look that one up because I didn't recall the Big Least ever winning one, but saw that when Miami won their last title, they were still in that joke of a football conference.
Big East has Miami's 1. Then once Ohio State gets their 2002 title vacated the Big East will have 2. Then once Auburn gets theirs vacated they will get 3 with TCU.
No way the AP rescinds the titles. They pretty much threw their middle finger at the world when they voted USC number 1 over LSU. OU can't claim a championship because they were absolutely throttled. Reggie Bush not playing wouldn't have even made a difference in that game. Auburn didn't get a chance to play for it, used to kind of feel sorry for them until SCam Newton came along, now I don't feel a damn thing for them because they cheated as well. What's Ironic is that in 2005 Auburn was screaming about USC cheating, and how they were robbed, and blah blah blah, yet they all seem to think that there was nothing going on with SCam.
Don't think that's how it works. When a title is vacated, there is no champion for that season. Then again, we're breaking new ground here; this is the first time the BCS has taken away crystal. Maybe they will award it to the losing team.
I don't think they will. They will just vacate. Tubberville and others have said that Auburn should be awarded the title but I don't think it's going to happen at all.
Pffffftt.....after that beat down it would have been nearly impossible to get the OU players to take the field for a second game. USC would have won all three.
