So Barkley ... so much for you guys being able to beat Bama or LSU last year? Couldn't even take care of Stanford lol

You think that statement can be made after week 3 and only one loss? Remember when we played in the Championship game with 2. Hold on to your panties, the season's just started.

Personally, I never saw us meeting them anyway. As I've said, their lack of depth would cost them down the road. Tonight Stanford's D smothered them. USC didn't look like a top tier team tonight but that was the first game in how many that they didn't score 30 plus? Stanford looks like they could finish the year in the top ten but it's hard to say that looking at their San Jose St. game.

I thought Ole Miss had a good shot at Texas. That TD called back was huge imo. Florida looked much improved.

I think that statement can be made because the ONLY reason USC is ranked as high as they are is because of the media golden child, Matt Barkley, who looked like his USC brothers look on Sundays.

I knew Kiffen would fuck this up. Us getting a shot at them was too good to be true.

I try to look at things without being biased (to whatever extent that is possible). Having said that, I was honestly shocked USC was ranked so high though I haven't really kept up with the rosters of teams (who's returning, etc) in the past couple of years. I was suprised because I assumed since they had fewer scholarships; some players transferred out after sanctions, normal attrition.

Preseason rankings are a pig in the poke anyway.

true, and I was surprised as well for the same reasons and having lane kiffin as a head coach, a guy who has been a failure at every head coaching gig he has gotten. But you know how the pollsters love them a perceived awesome quarterback.

USCw usually waits till the last couple of games of the season before they lose, causing me to have to listen to the talking head blow the Trojans every Sunday morning for ten or so weeks. Glad they picked week 3 this season, I might actually enjoy my Saturday mornings this year!

    something crazy...

USC beating Oregon into the dirt in both the regular season and the pac championship game?

ultra-talented Texas and Florida State curb stomping every team they play?

False. It may seem that way cause you dislike them but it's quite the opposite. The time they lost to Stanford when they were favored by 40 was back in '07. It was week 5 but in 2008 and 2009 their first losses were in week 3.

2010 it came in the 5th week and in 2011, week 4.

The LAT is going to have a meltdown over this, especially Chris Dufresne. Good. :) USC was dominated on the ground. They also made the Stanford D look stout, especially in critical situatons late. USC also seemed to panic when it mattered most. I think most of us knew that they were overrated and now they have been exposed. Oregon is the best in the Pac-12, but the two schools will meet in Los Angeles the same day we play Bama. Oregon will likely be undefeated going in, and USC will probably still have the one loss (they have Cal next weekend). I expect USC to give Oregon a good game as it will be a must win for USC.
