    Time for some schoolin' tiga

USC doesn't automatically believe every 5* is in the bag, far from it. Just about any school in the top 15 and even some further down the line with good recruiters are in the hunt for top players. Throw in the travel and away from home issues for kids from the South and the East and we know it's an uphill battle.

We had every reason to believe that Wilson would be a Trojan. He made an emphatic recommitment statement as late as Dec.26th and then again prior to the AAA game. Remember his dad lives out here in L.A This change of heart has more to do with his personal situation and nothing to do with USC specifically. I like this kid a lot, I hope he has a great career and I feel for him having to go through so much turmoil at this point in his life.

Kiffen may well end up in Oakland. Some will be happy if he leaves. However, he has been the lynch pin in terms of recruiting including the likes of Everson Griffen. I personally think he vindicated himself a bit in the 2nd half of the Rose Bowl. Either way, his departure won't kill the program. Let's wait until LOI day before you start second guessing this year's class for SC.

You have GOT to be kidding about utla. Hell, Svoboda just got the boot today. The ONLY reason Duhrell has a job today in Westwood is because USC failed to show up for our game against them. Mark it down, it ain't gonna' happen again. Tedford is inked for another 4 years and they'll be schooling the bruins too. kal is a close second in the Pac10. Our game up in bezerkeley will be a potential misstep but don't count on it.

    Class is over.

Not true my friend. The majority of the fan base does feel that way, at least their posts indicate that much. I know you are one of the more rational ones and there are others who call it like it is but most feel exactly like that.

I almost asked you about UCLA in the other post in the Den- aren't they returning almost all of their starters? After USC owning them for 8 years, the intimidation factor won't factor in and they believe they should be National Champs....in fact that was their National Championship game.

UCLA and Cal both have a ways to go before they compete with USC year in and year out. I don't think their programs will get consistent enough to do it as a matter of fact.

Tirk, Carroll took his vacation during a non-contact period, the best time to take one.

And Tiga, USC won't be in a shambles if Pete leaves, they will have a tough decision to make and I'll be hoping they make one similar to the ones they did in the 80's and 90's, but don't count on them falling apart. The better coaches in the country will be standing in line to go there.

I don't literally mean "Shambles" they have had the #1 recruting class the past 3 years. It was a bad choice of words, I just meant it would be a mess cause Pete is very good coach. What I meant is that by the standards they are used to it could be a tough year.

    First things first

it's utla or the bRuins, you pick but at least keep up. :)

Had we played even a slightly decent game rather than lay the biggest turd of the year on their home turf, karl doh'rell would be looking for a job today. I suppose anything can happen but don't expect the gutties to be contending for anything other than another appearance in the emerald bowl. Hey, I hear next year Richard Simmons is the grand marshall for the parade up in The City.

And by the way, let's call the Reggie Bush for Tim Floyd trade a wild success.

Do I have to explain it to you?

You do know why we say utla, right? Seeing as how most things Texas give you indigestion, I would have thought utla would be your pick.

Play along tiga, it makes me happy.

Actually, I don't know. I've seen it and knew it wasn't an accolade but never really questioned. Do tell.

After we lost to tejas and went to pauley pavillion for our first bball meeting of the season, all the gutties were wearing longhorn shirts and hats.

Pretty sad when you have to hang your hat on another team's success against your own rival especially after you get wupped 66-19.

Anyway, it's just the combo of ucla and ut.

    Cali Girl is officially out.
