I also need to look into transfer rules for Upperclassman (Juniors and Seniors) in this situation because they could change making it easier for them to transfer.
USC fans don't need to worry though. They'll still get voted in as AP champs for the next two seasons.
No. I don't believe the loser (Oklahoma) or Auburn should get the title. Just let the previous champion hold the title for two years.
And so it begins... USC to Appeal NCAA Ruling - University of Southern California Official Athletic Site
If you notice, the games were not forfeited. The wins were vacated, meaning OU still has a loss on their record for that year. It is also up to the voting institutions. Again, BCS can say they wouldn't have been there, but the AP and USA Today Coaches polls awarded the championship. They have to void the championship they awarded. The NCAA has no control over what the polls decide to do. I'm not saying they shouldn't or will not. I'm just saying there are some extra steps that have to take place for it to happen.
Already the ESPN analysts are crying for USC and spinning the story on how it isn't fair that this penalty hurts the current members of the team when it happened so long ago.
