Explain this @uscvball USC claims perfect record vs. Texas despite 2006 Rose Bowl defeat https://www.thescore.com/news/1372009 (via http://thesco.re/theScore_app )
Fake news. Gotta be someone trolling USCw who sent it and made it look like it came from their statistician.
Seriously? What is there to explain? The article is pretty clear. Wins AND losses are vacated. Tessalone is merely stating what the NCAA mandated. It is nothing but statistical game playing bullshit. No respectable Trojan claims that Rose Bowl never happened or that we didn't lose. And no serious Trojan believes for one second that a win on Saturday, if we win, will in any way feel like revenge. Fuck Texas.
Vacating wins is supposed to be a punishment. Being able to vacate your losses too sort of mitigates the punishment. What if a team was 0-12? Would that be wiped out too?
Mitigates punishment? Lol. What the ncaa did to USC was a fucking joke. I don't have the interest to quibble over stupid shit like this. The article clearly stated, "citing Jeff Williams, the associate director of media coordination and statistics for the NCAA, the official Trojans record for the 2005 season is listed as 0-0." I suggest that Jeff Williams could explain it, not me. My guess is if the entire season is vacated, then the record is 0-0. I'll say it again, this is a non-story concocted by a canadian baseball playing blogger. Nobody at USC is "touting" a 4-0 record against Texas. I just looked at my media guide and the loss is in there, so....
