Many of the same names being tossed around. Dave Aranda seems to be the LA Times top candidate.

I like Aranda & have consistanly had him in my Top 2, along with Riley, which means exactly squat. But I've been thinking along the same lines as the LA Times article.

This is about the 5th USC article mentioning Aranda as a top candidate at USC. Not one of them has ever said: "He hates to recruit" or "Recruitng with him is a liability". So he can recruit USC, but not LSU, where he we helped win an NC?

    from LSU County:

"LSU's locker room hasn't been the same since Aranda's departure, especially on the defensive end as his calming demeanor and high football IQ were a near perfect blend for this Tigers' defense during his time in Baton Rouge."

    Moving on up?
Mel Tucker's Defense is now ranked #103 of 130 in Total Defense. Thought he was a Defensive guru?

I know if USC hires Aranda & were sitting here with Scott Woodward gushing over Jimbo Fisher or James Franklin, I'm gonna feel like USC won this hire.

I hope Scott Woodward is as interested in Aranda as Scott Rabalais of the BR Advocate thinks he is.

But what do I know. I see a lot more Napier talk than Aranda talk on the LSU msg boards.

I think Napier has plants. Plus a bunch of “one-of-us” clowns. Still, Napier before Jimbo/Franklin for me. Those two need to go somewhere. If Woodward has watched Jimbo unfold at A&M and still wants that guy, Woody isn’t quite the savant we’re led to believe. (Of course, i could be the one that’s totally wrong.)

Jimbo was a perceived big name upgrade for aTm in terms of where there program was at. He had quality time here at LSU back in the day and won a BCS title at FSU. So what has Jimbo done at aTm to date? The best I would say is that they are more competitive, generally, but that’s it. Their “signature” program wins seem to be beating us in 2018 in that BS OT game and then a weaker BAMA team this year. I guess I am not on the Jimbo train either, but won’t be totally pissed if he were to somehow land here. But I don’t think he will.
