Is it just me or did USC and Georgia get a little to much love in the polls? According to the AP USC is now ranked 9th. How is it possible for SC and GEorgia to receive a total beat down and yet Still be in top 11. USC pretty much be guaranteed to be in the top 3 the way this looks to pan out.
Re: USC abd Georgia Alabama ran for 2.9 yards average on the ground and had less passing yards than UGA. The men in stripes forgot that there were two teams on the field and gave Bama extra chances over and over again during the first half.
Re: USC abd Georgia You got 600 yards in garbage time (which unfortunately was the whole second half for you Chip). I agree though, had the refs called the two blatant blocks in the back on UGA's punt return it would never have been close.
Re: USC abd Georgia Hey Chip, you obviously have a few plays and calls in mind that you think went the wrong way. Granted I watched the LSU game so I may have missed them. Do you have any links to vids or the game itself that could be submitted for our examination? I will give my objective thoughts on each instance. I know I busted your chops in another thread, but seriously I would be interested in seeing it.
Re: USC abd Georgia How about the non holding calls on UGA's offensive line. It got so bad my dad and I started counting and ended up with about 13 blatant non holding calls. It would have been more but my dad can only count to six and I can only count to seven. Let's not mention the three block in the back non calls to assist your run back for a td. Georgia got manhandled from the opening kick off. They had every opportunity to change the outcome of the game but didn't. Richt and company got so caught up in the "blackout" that they forget a damn football game was being played. Let's not blame the refs because if UGA's OL hadn't been holding so much Stafford would have ended up in intensive care. They didn't come prepared and got an ass whippin. Plain and simple.
Re: USC abd Georgia During the first 50 minutes of the game Bama got penalized once. And that was when the Bama kicker ran past the ball. It took the refs a few minutes to decide that they reluctantly had to call a penalty against Bama. The roughing the passer calls on JPW were obsurd. Saban may not be the only one with deep pockets...
Re: USC abd Georgia Read the rule book on roughing the passer. The guy hit the qb in the face. Just because it didn't break his nose and spew blood out of his ear holes doesn't mean it shouldn't have been called. And with regards to bama not being penalized much and Georgia being penalized a lot. I guess all of Georgia's opponents have deep pockets as well because this being penalized a lot didn't just begin for UGA Saturday night. They've been one of the most penalized teams in the SEC/Country since week one. UGA just didn't come prepared and Bama did. That's about what it amounts to.
