You take everything stonewall literal. I don't know if it's with me or are you a jackass to other people??? You bust my balls on the most ridiculous sh*t.

My point stands true. When the majority of those in front of you win, things tend to stay the same. Is a win on the road against UGA better than one at home vs MSU? IMO, yes. Last week there must have been a half-dozen teams ahead of us (and for the record, I DIDN'T LOOK IT UP FOR SPECIFIC NUMBER) and we move up....this week was not the same. One lost...to a ranked team. So we stay the same.

So many people are hung up on rankings. Keep winning and you keep moving up. When there's not that much of a shake-down with teams ranked ahead of you (and Iowa lost to a ranked team on the road).

Personally, I think we got to #12 only because so many teams ahead of us lost because right now, I don't think we're the 12th best team in the nation.

No real reason we should move up this week. Coaches certainly didn't watch the game, but rather read stats. And while our average starting position is a huge factor in our total yards, so is our passing game.

Eventually LSU will be watched by a few people, and hopefully we perform a bit better on offense when that happens. We are #12 in mid September. Keep winning and I don't think that will matter at all.

Not sure anyone caught the fact that Arkansas jumped us.

Iowa lost, so we jumped them, and therefore we ended up at #12 still, but there was movement.

I think that's bunk that Arkansas gained anything on us after the 2 games were played out. Georgia looks to be a pretty bad team without AJ Green.

Thats what I hate about the coaches poll.

They have no clue as to how the games played out. They are simply looking at a box score.

Coaches should not have a poll.

Alabama's only potential loss is probably LSU.

So win the West and we are in the top 5 in the nation at a minimum, because likely we will either be undefeated or with just 1 loss.

Well, the AP ain't too different. Most hack writers don't watch all the games, though I imagine it's far easier than 20 years ago.

At the end of the day, it's the poll that matters. At least for another year. And if we keep winning, no poll matters in September.

Nah, I think it's a "can't type tone of voice" issue. When you type the "guess what???" crap, it reads like you're being a smart arse. I wasn't the only one to call you on that, and wasn't even the first one. Similarly, it's hard to guage sarcasm or intentional exaggeration when reading text. You clearly said everyone in front of us won, and that isn't true. Also, by your logic that if the people in front of you win, you can't move, then why did Arky jump LSU? LSU won by more than 3 TDs, but Arky jumped LSU after squeaking by UGA. I was more challenging the system with that than I was challenging you.

The system looks at a 3 TD victory over MSU as less impressive than a lucky last play beating UGA. Arky is a top 15 team, and UGA is an unranked team. It's just that UGA, based on history, looks better on a resume than MSU, based on history. Yet another problem with the polls. UGA isn't a good team at all. I would guess that, if MSU played them without AJ Green, MSU would give them all they can handle. Hell, even on this very forum last week, folks were pumping up MSU and their phenomonal coach Dan Mullen...based on nothing. But when LSU beats them by 3 TDs, meh...it's just MSU. ESPN had LSU on upset alert, but clearly, when LSU beats the crap out of them, they were supposed to. 22 points wasn't enough.

I agree that polls SHOULDN'T matter, but with LSU getting jumped by teams even though they're beating the hell out of THEIR opponent, eventually it will matter. Instead of being top 10, we're still 12. If that keeps happening, it's going to affect the outcome of this season. Three years ago, LSU lost the regular season finale, and STILL made the BCSNCG. That was an anomaly, but it was because LSU was respected in the polls. I think there shouldn't be any polls until October, but unfortunately, there are polls now. There are polls before the season even starts. And like it or not, it can and will affect the season of some teams. Ask AU.
