I didn't know that we did away with TOPS. I figured the TOPS program was definitely a reason we'd rank very high.

It's hard to give any credability to a poll like this, simply b/c there are so many factors that go into the "yield" percentages outside of simple "popularity" of the school.

Probably one of the biggest factors would be tuition. I was accepted to Notre Dame, but could not afford the tuition so ended up at LSU. I knew all along that I wasn't going to be abe to afford Notre Dame when I applied, but simply wanted to see if I could get in.

And you're really going to be throwing a hissy fit when LSU passes up ND next year.

But yeah, of course the cost of tuition favors into how popular a school is. If ND was more affordable, they'd be ranked even higher.

You are kidding, right? ND is the #18th ranked school in the country. They only let in 24% of applicants and have a student body of just under 12k. It's an elite crowd and an excellent school. They probably have one of the highest alum giving rates. I highly doubt that ND is worried about popularity.

The overwhelming majority of the top ranked schools are private and therefore tuition is quite a bit more than most state schools. You can't even find an annual tuition under $34k until you hit Rice, ranked at #17.

Seriously........popularity based on take rates is hardly LSU's best attribute.

I am enjoying the hissy fit you are throwing because you have been faced with the reality that Southern Cal isn't anywhere near as great as you think it is. But come on, Southern Cal sucks.

I can't explain what you are unwilling to get.

Did I even mention USC in my last post? Um, no. I addressed the notion that LSU passing ND in "popularity" is worthy of celebration.

Look, this is an LSU board and there is nothing wrong with LSU fans being happy about how we did in the US News report. Just because you and ND boy aren't happy that LSU did so well, doesn't mean you should come here and complain about it. Go to a USC board if you want to complain about it.

And btw, I don't think USC "sucks" (although I'm not surprised they aren't that popular). I was just enjoying seeing how upset you were getting about how LSU did so great. Just tip your hat and say congrats and go whine about it on an USC board.
