Have to love this Urban Meyer quote that the Gator Nation is passing around... "Well, for those guys who just put in their time and didn't make any real contributions, it's time for you to go. It won't be hard to say goodbye to some of those guys who just went through the motions. Now for those kids who actually bought into the program, and who made some sacrifices and contributions -- you know, like Bubba Caldwell....he's a graduate of UF and had a great career -- you'll really miss those guys. But just because you're a senior doesn't mean you have any value."
The guy also told '08 TX WR Darryl Stonum (UM Verbal) that when chatting with Lloyd & his WR coach that they thought he didn't fit at their school as well as UMs, and tried to pitch that to Stonum as a persuasion. I can't think of a more preposterous or foolish lie to tell a recruit. 1) The UM coach will surely deny it, making you look like a liar. 2) Who honestly believes Carr is going to give Meyer that kind of ammo, with his track record (he stole a star safety last year under UM's nose)? He's not fond of the guy in the first place.
Wow! I hope this is a hoax. I actually exchanged a couple of e-mails with Meyer after we beat them (complimenting Tebow's effort as a skeptical Tiger fan) and he was very considerate in his responses.
I could be off here, but I thought I heard this being attributed to Saban not too long after Bama's last game or something. Maybe Terry can chime in on this. I could almost swear it was from him though.
