Wait, some of you are acting like Urban is on his death bed. Is Urban on his death bed?

I wish only the best for him and his family.

And not so best for Florida football.

    2 Thoughts:

    1. I don't particularly care for Urban Meyer, but I wish and his family happiness and serenity. I hope he gets his health concerns straightened out and has a happy life ahead of him with his family.

    2. Mark my words, Saban will put feelers out for the Florida job. California, Texas, and Florida are the 3 most fertile recruiting states...no state is even a distant 4th.

    Dumb statement.

Per capita, which is what matters, you're wrong.

There is a precedent to this resignation by Coach Meyer.

Many of the old timers on this board recall a Notre Dame coach that did the same exact thing and is considered a legend even though he never coached again - Ara Parseghian.

He was 51, had compiled a 95–17–4 record, and won the '66 and '73 mythical national championships.

The most successful Fighting Irish coach of the 20th century, he resigned at the end of the 1974 season due to the effects of stress to his health.

Instead of playing their last game for "Him who walks on water."
