Wow, I always thought Meyer was a low life, but if what this writer is claiming is true, he is worst than I could have ever imagined. http://aol.sportingnews.com/ncaa-fo...-violation-recruiting-drugs-program-will-musc
It's hard to know how much stock to put into these stories when most of the info is based on anonymous sources. Though based on Muschamp's reaction following the UF game last season, there may be some truth to the inmates running the asylum by the time Urban left. And the revolving door of arrested/reinstated players was well-documented under his watch. If he's not careful and the OSU AD doesn't keep tabs on him, this hire could blow up in their face spectacularly with possible LOIC after following up Tattoo-gate.
Well, it's not like the Sporting News is some hack outfit. You can believe they verified their story with multiple sources before running it.
True, I'm just instinctively skeptical of off-the-record claims, with the one guy going on record having some sour grapes. But it does jive with things we know that happened under Urban's tenure, the rumors of negative recruiting and shady tactics that tended to surround him at Florida, and the current problems Muschamp is trying to deal with.
Believe. In the season opener against Hawaii, Meyer said a few elite players (including wideout Percy Harvin, linebacker Brandon Spikes and tight end Aaron Hernandez) would miss the game with injuries. According to multiple sources, the three players—all critical factors in Florida’s rise under Meyer—failed drug tests for marijuana and were sitting out as part of standard university punishment.
Meyer's been a liar and a person of questionable character for a long, long time. here's a source that isn't anonymous:
If not for Tebow, Urban Meyer would just be a footnote. I love how it says in the article that he left Florida for health reasons, but miraculously in a year he has gotten that under control. He saw the ship sinking, and sinking fast, and he pulled the old Italian Captain and bailed first.
