Did Carson Wentz get endorsement deals comparable to Fournette? I don't know but as the QB he is the face of the franchise and Philadelphia is a lot bigger market than Jacksonville.
That's fair. Your mention of Faulk, or @Bengal B and the mention of Bradshaw and even Carson Wentz doesn't change what I said earlier--in summary there's an advantage in draft status linked to a school. How much money did LF make for LSU has to be balanced with how much LSU has elevated the platform for a guy like LF. Faulk in one example in a quarter of a century of first round draft picks--600+, right? @Bengal B While I don't follow the NFL, I ceraintly knew who Wentz was before the draft. NDS is a directional school but it is also a well known football program.
Early departure is inevitable if you want a quality program. There's one school color today, folks. GREEN
24 FBS athletic departments made a profit in 2014... If you are paying every athlete on campus the same wage (Title IX) you can probably reduce that to 20 or less.
Less. LSU reported 465 on scholarship across men's and women's last year--120 for football reporting aspects.
This isn't rocket science and needs to happen. It works for Olympic athletes, why not student athletes as well? This article also mentions incentives for graduating. That might keep some of the early departures from happening. "Want to pay college athletes? Start with allowing legitimate endorsement deals." https://www.cbssports.com/college-f...t-with-allowing-legitimate-endorsement-deals/
Of course they would. But let's not pretend the current system is not already being abused. See Cam Newton and that cool photo roll of all of the Alabama players with their cars. Check it out if you haven't seen it. https://kentucky.forums.rivals.com/threads/alabama-football-players-and-their-cars.248139/ (I'm mainly posting the stuff about Bama because I know Terry will read it. Think of it as good natured ribbing Terry.)
