Who's arguing? I thought we were having a conversation. I think I've been here long enough for you to know I'm not Kaka
This response is about like picking the fat kid in the wheelchair for a dodgeball game. Makes no sense. Colts. That's one. A draft pick by the Colts. That's 17. (emphasis X16 to reach that sum.) It's the Colts--Luck applies in many ways. I'm not a guy that follows the NFL. But, it's the Colts. He'd have put up crazy numbers in an FCS environment--LF7 would have--but he wouldn't have been in front of everyone on a Saturday night in the fall. His brand, and how he's paid out of the gate, are not comparable. If Marshall Faulk runs the same way at USC when he was in college, what kind of endorsements is he signing as soon as he walks out the door? ~versus~ He got drafted.
Let's be real--pun intended. Title IX. You're arguing for a capitalist market in a socialist structure. <-- hiting post reply while wondering 'what the fuck'...
You can keep moving the goal post. That's fine. You said would he have been drafted as high. I agree on the endorsements out of the gates though. But that's different than draft position isn't it?
I didn't want to call it slavery because they are getting something out if it. It just isn't what anyone would call fair. How about this idea, since you seem to talk about the endorsements a lot, let them sign endorsement deals. It doesn't come out of the schools profits and the kids that can play get paid.
