The way LSU has played this season, especially the Florida game, i'd say no one on this LSU team is NFL ready?
I'd say its more of an issue of Ensminger not being NFL ready. My daughter predicted half of his calls.
I'm not sold on Ensminger either. I didn't see a whole lot of adapting to the pressure they were putting on Burrow, or their defensive packages as a whole. But truth be told, while imo E isn't the best choice for OC, he can't make them catch, run, and throw. Development just isn't there imo. I don't mind losing, but it's the fashion in which we lose that kills me. Every year we seem to be undisciplined on the line; false starts, holding, illegal blocks. I just want to see a hard fought, 60 minutes of football, played clean.
E did eventually adjust; maybe it took a little too long. I’m not one to waive the coaches responsibility in catching, holding on to the football, etc, but those two untimely drops were a brutal failure that shouldn’t have happened. I think they led to desperation from the qb, and thus interceptions. They were good play calls. WRs just aren’t what they should be. That’s ultimately on the staff (O hired Mickey Joseph).
Ahhh so it begans and as I was thinking it would after the first loss here comes the armchair OC's ready to pounce on Ensminger. So boringly predictable and laughable.
Maybe he needs to do a better job of teaching them to catch. After two seasons not sold on Mickey J. I think the only reason he’s on staff is his NOLA connections. Thank God O brought in Sullivan.
I dont think the play calling was all that bad TBH. I think the line play was what really made it look bad. Both sides of the ball looked like shit on the LOS.
