Rivals just got some new film Kyle Prater (3 * LB), and it looks like he may jump to 4 stars because his film looks a lot better than the attention he was getting. Plus he had some pretty good offers out there besides us. It's an absolute shame if Derrick Bryant does not get upgraded to a high 4 star because he's an awesome CB. He should move up. Rivals still doesn't have any film on Cordian Hagans or Alex Hurst, but everything I've heard about them has been great. The lack of film will probably stop them from jumping up in the rankings though. Both Rockey Duplessis & Jhyryn Taylor look great in their highlight videos & I think the main thing holding them back is grades as both are questionable to qualify. If Rivals gets some confirmation on J. Taylors grades there's a good chance he jumps to 4 stars because he's supposed to be better than his brother, Brandon Taylor - who is a 4 star LSU commit. I still love Theriot as a commit, but his lack of a true position may stop him from jumping to a 4 star. Jordan Jefferson has gotten a lot of attention as of the end of the year, but he didn't get a lot of big offers which may stop him from jumping to 4 stars. He may anyway though.
The only true 3 star commits that LSU has right now (as I see it) are: P.J. Lonergan - great run blocking, but his pass blocking is an unknown for a lot of people. Thomas Parsons - combine freak, but hasn't put it all together yet. A lot of potential (much like Tyson Jackson as a recruit) Tim Molton - good hands, size, and body control, but hasn't showed a lot of flash - just solid play. Ryan St. Julien - true CB, solid but not spectacular.
I think Thursday is correct for the new rankings. I cant provide a link but I seem to remember reading that recently on Rivals.
If we can get about half of our 12 players rated at 3 stars to be upgraded to 4 stars, LSU would jump from 12 to anywhere from 6-8 in the team rankings. That would be awesome. I hope we get some of these kids rankings corrected.
I don't think we get any more than 3 of them to jump up in the rankings, and for the reasons I listed above for each one. Ultimately, the players that we get are the players that we get & their star ratings do not matter.
15 minutes and counting would love to see the 9:12 ration reverse to 12:9 in terms of 4 stars to 3 stars, would be a lovely boost in our recruiting ranking
