As we have seen in the past any player is just one blown out knee in spring practice from achieving their early expectations. The transition from HS to college practice is huge and it takes a little luck to stay injury free throughout spring practice and beyond. I have no doubts about JM's athletic abilities but am not crowning him "the best to ever put on pads at LSU" just yet. Just my opinion.:champs:

    Jeez, that's a grim outlook.

Not grim just realistic. Look at what we were saying about AB when he came on board. I'm not trying to be negative but injuries in spring practice do occur. :crystal:

    I think TigerBait is right

Playing time will likely be the same at any of the three schools. He's hearing virtually the same story from all 3 coaches. What will be the difference, IMHO, is relationship with the coaches long term.

Whether he gets the ball at RB day one, doesn't matter. He'd show up on all team's kickoff and punt return squads.

Announcement of any potential sanctions is VERY far off. Just because the story suspiciously broke so close to signing day does not indicate an immediate barrier. The news was surrounding the civil case and has no bearing on the NCAA's investigation.

I continue to think that bama is NOT a factor. It's still between LSU and USC. If he's not in Cardinal and Gold in the fall, then I hope to Gawd he's a Tiger.

    You got it.

McKnight is wise beyond his years. Advantage LSU. In fact, he will be a Tiger just based on this over hyped recruiting ploys by both USC and Bama. They will do the recruiting for us.

Some posters on here have given their reasons, altho I found all of them to be quite bogus. It was simply a failure of the coaching staff of getting the best players out on the field early in the year and giving us our best chance at beating both Auburn and Florida. It's unfortunate, but what's done is done. Lesson learned hopefully.

I agree 100% with you. That is the one real knock I can honestly say I have with Miles as of now. Williams should have been getting more carries, he should have had 20 carries per game. Not start the game strong, then have to sit so Hester, Vincent, Scott, and Broussard could also get their carries. Find your best back and stick with him. I understand why Williams didnt play much in the begining, but he clearly established himself in the middle of the season. By seasons end he showed the signs of a future stud back, showing he deserved his 5 star rating.

Ive said many times that in the end that could be a determining factor for McKnight. He has a great shot at playing for a title at both LSU or USC(depending on the Bush situation). The difference is Carroll has shown that your classification means nadda in who plays. Carroll has put together a serious run recently with true freshman getting a lot of major PT in crucial situations. He has faith in his guys. I hope that LSU will do that next year and play the best possible players.

it wont be USC, He's been quoted saying its too far from home. Ole Miss, and LSU are more realistic.

    scouts.com quotes:
Joe did have an inhome visit by an assistant from Ole Miss today.

"Coach Frank (Wilson) came by. He just left actually. We talked about the same things we always talk about."

    Which is?

"How they are going to use me like Reggie Bush at USC and how he is going to be like a father to me there, if I go there."

What stands out about the Rebels right now?

"They are a good school, plus I liked their players a lot and me and Coach Frank are cool."

    And USC?

"They have a good team. I can go over there and play to my fullest ability, but it is a long ways from home."

    What about the LSU Tigers?

"I have not visited there yet, so I will find out more about them after this.

But reguardless where he goes, (cept BAMA!) I'll still pull for him, I love to see Louisiana boyz blow up...He's gonna be special.

If the above holds true, and I agree with it, how would McKnight's supposedly good relations with Saban affect the final outcome? (although he is more on the defensive side)
