I didn't make it to this one, but it sounds like it was a good workout...

Thanks. The paradox of scrimmage reports is that no matter the positive news there is always bad news to be taken with it.

My first thought when I read this was WTF is the defense giving up 40 and 60 yard TD's.

    Stuff I noticed:

Miles almost seems giddy when he talks about JJ, Shep and Scott/Williams.
He seems very happy with the kicking/punting game. Sounds like Jasper/Helton.

I get the feeling Miles thinks this team is going to surprise the national media. He just seems like a guy holding a Royal Flush.

I'm going with the fact that this offense will be unstoppable this season and surprise the hell out of everyone in the nation.

An athletic and confident young QB, a whole host of talented wideouts to choose from, 2 senior running backs who are ready to shine in anticipation of getting to the next level, a potential All-American Tight End, and a nice balance of talent, youth and veterans across the line of scrimmage working the trenches. Mix in some home run hitters in Holliday and Shepard, and you got the makings of, uh, yeah, an unstoppable offense.

    Proceed.

    Points!

    Downside: consistency
"Jarrett Lee connected on 10-of-18 passes with two interceptions..."

To be fair we don't know what happened with those picks. It's just as possible they happened because of athletic defensive plays, mistakes on the part of receivers, or tipped balls as it is that he stared down his receivers. But that did jump right out after reading the OP.

That's what I love to hear and I agree. I'm trying to temper my expectations because I must admit I was very high on Lee coming in to last year. I still haven't given up on him either. I am very high on Jefferson this year. I've been very impressed with what I've seen of him so far.

I'm also very excited about what appears to be the mood of the team this year. They seem motivated and cohesive. I like what I'm hearing from the defensive players and what seems to be a very aggressive, instinctive style defense. Just the opposite of last year where the defense always seems to be thinking too much and confused.

If things are coming into place this can be an incredible team. They are loaded with talent.

The whole attitude of this year's team is different. Last year, it seemed like they lost their identity, and maybe had grown a little complacent. But I think that hunger from 2 years ago is back, especially on D.
