The article was about 'The quick hook, Beware'.

Cutcliffe, 44-29 of the rebels, beat Bama twice, LSU, Florida, and shared the west title with you in 2003.

After Manning left, had a subpar 4-6 year and was gone.

I look at who ole miss replaced him with and it was quite a game plan.

Looking at what cutcliffe has already accomplished at DUKE of all places, Can he coach? What was ole myth thinking.

Answer: after only one sub par season, at ole myth, at ole myth, they were Not.

    Exactly.

It's hard to trust a coach who displays blatant incompetence in such a basic aspect of game coaching.

Funny you should mention Georgia. Although we have a better record and beat them H2H, I was just thinking about how their season has mirrored ours, in terms of how disgruntled the fans are about the way the program is being run. Both have underachieved in the eyes of their fans. For us, it's the inconsistent play of the offense, playing down to/not blowing out inferior opponents, and the perception of poor coaching/game management (Ole Miss). For them, their issues seems to be similar, except their problems are on defense, turnovers, and not winning games they probably should have.

Here's my theory about a lot of LSU fans and apparently other SEC fans:

A whole lot of the fans didn't graduate from or attend LSU. so they pick a team to follow. In Louisiana it's easy, but in, say, Alabama they choose between Bama and Auburn. A lot of the states in the SEC have lots of poverty and a general lack of education...heck, there's a general lack of respect for education...so a lot of the fans never went to the school they love to champion, have less education, have lower paying jobs, etc.

Gradually, through the years, SEC football fills a personal void in their lives and becomes a very real barometer for their own self worth. LSU wins...therefore I am a WINNER! LSU loses...I become a LOSER. Damn you Les Miles for making me a loser.

That's why LSU fans hate Les Miles...and a lot of them really do hate him. That's also why they really and truly do hate Ole Miss and Alabama or Tennessee.

It's such a fallacy because despite the general poverty, lack of higher education there is absolutely no reason for us to have this void...to feel inferior. Sure the polls have us last in the rankings of the states because they can't measure culture or love of family, sense of community and the like.

But too many LSU fans take losses more than personally. That's why they feel slandered, jilted, and personally insulted...and that's a problem...a personal problem.

It's also not limited to us or the SEC schools. Just look at what happened in Indiana this weekend...Why do you think that ND fan punched out Clausen.

I live near the georgia border, actually one block. Their fans are specifically upset with penalties, defense, intensity, turnovers, and that "florida" game, and have been even when they were winning more games.

A now much larger group of Fans, don't believe richt is going to take them were they want to go.
