I think it's sad that 5 years after Saban left, there's still fans that want him back (after his blatant disrespect and lies towards LSU) and want Miles gone (even though he's never shown anything bhut respect and integrity to LSU sports). Lets compare the Saban/Miles era: Saban Era: 2000: 8-4 with a Peach bowl win. 2001: 10-3 with a SECC and a Sugar bowl win. 2002: 8-5 with a Cotton bowl loss. 2003: 13-1 with a SECC and BCSNC. 2004: 9-3 with a Capitol One bowl loss. Total: 48-16 overall, 28–12 SEC, 2 SECC's and 1 BCSNC, 3-2 in bowl games. Miles Era: 2005: 11-2 with a Chik-Fil-A bowl win. 2006: 11-2 with a Sugar bowl win. 2007: 12-2 with a SECC and a BCSNC. 2008: 8-5 with a Chik-Fil-A bowl win. 2009: 8-3 and currently building on the season record. Total: 50-14 overall, 26–13 SEC, 1 SECC, 1 BCSNC, 4-0 in bowls, and undefeated in 5 seasons in OOC play. Pretty cut and dry, Miles has a few more wins, a much more impressive bowl record and you all consider him less intelligent then Saban, but yet Miles has never lost outside of the SEC in 5 years. I think right now i'll stick with Miles and our new OC. For all you Miles haters, go ahead and take the trek to Bama, we don't need ya.
Wow, Miles has more wins than Saban.....oh it's because he had Saban's team...and Saban coached them all, so they were really Saban's players... Wait, what's this? Saban went 8-5 too, and nobody wanted him fired??? I think you got your numbers wrong Saban never made that many mistakes  (Sarcasm intended)
What new OC? Hasn't happened yet. It can't be possible to defend his pathetic SEC record between this season and last.. I just hope he gets his crap together and stops the slide. He's made mistakes.. but so far he's corrected them. He's usually good about hiring the right guys the 2nd time around, so I hope that stays true.
It'll happen, take it to the bank. Like I said, i'll take CLM and his new OC next season... It is possible to defend his record. He had a star QB that wanted to be a thug, so he let the kid go... it's cost us in terms of our offensive production because we didn't have a mature ready QB behind him, and GC doesn't help an already hurting situation since it's obvious he's done nothing to bring up either JJ or JL from where they were last season, add that and his playcalling together and you have troubles competing for W's.. So yes it's pretty simple to defend, sorry you don't get it.
Expecting your head coach to know when to call time out is not being unrealistic, it would be part of the minimum requirements of an SEC coaching job.
Did it really cost us in terms of our offensive production? We averaged 31 PPG in 2008, and it's obviously not the QB that is holding us back. I agree that we haven't had great QB development. But we can't blame Jefferson, as his sophomore stats best the stats we saw from Flynn in 2007. Crowton is gone. I'm uneasy until it's final. No matter how you spin it .500 at best in his last 16 SEC games cannot be defended, we're fricking LSU -- not Arkansas.
