Accurate? I personally think the braves have a stronger hold in LA than the astros. How about those of you in the "unincorporated territories"?
This is a really cool picture. I think it's accurate for the most part, with these exceptions: 1. Like TB3 said, the Braves are infinitely more popular in FL than either the Marlins or D-Rays. 2. No way the White Sox have that many fans. 3. There should be a filter over the country to capture Yankee fans. 4. I think the unincorportated territories are generally unpopulated or Dodgers fans. 5. The Nationals do not command 1/3 of the Eastern seaboard. I guess it used to be the Orioles, but that franchise has been run into the ground, so I dunno who those folks like. I'm almost positive it's not the Nationals though.
Other than Dallas, their region isn't populated. I don't think they're popular around Texas, but there's a pretty anti-Houston bias in the rest of Texas due largely to jealousy and high-browedness.
Count me in among Lousiana fans who count the Braves as my favorite team rather than Houston. I don't consider Louisiana as having a local team really, so I'd rather pull for a team that represents the south.
the local louisiana team is the mets, who have been throwing money at new orleans charities and play the only real baseball in the state south of alex box.
