I like the helmets as an alternative.... It look s like a Vegas Gold to me. I would like the uni's more if they pants were the same color as the helmet. It looked good on TV... :geauxtige:geauxtige :geauxtige:geauxtige
I still stand my my assessment and opinion that LSU would look classy and badass in an all white uniform with these helmets: If I were skilled at photoshop and didn't have a final exam tonight I would concoct how it could look but think... An all white uni with purple lettering and names...the throwback "L" letterman on the pant and a single purple line on the pleats of the pant. All white shoes.
I liked them for a one-game deal. I'd have no problem making it a special uniform for that Arkansas game. One thing I would like to see them do is take the LSU and Tiger head off the helmet and just leave it plain or put numerals on it. That would make it more traditional, pre-1958. I really liked the "L" on the pants. My deal is that the players liked them and they are the ones who have to wear them, so I was fine with it.
thought i was going to have a problem with them, but they didn't look bad. I liked the helmets, i thought they were going to be light gold, like UW or Notre Dame, but they were dark and yellowish gold.
The uniforms were ok in person; neither great nor overly offensive, kinda meh. The gloves on the other hand were awesome. Protip: gloves will help you win at flip cup.
The helmets and shoes were metalflake gold instead of the gold paint that most teams use. It looked sharp, but you couldn't see the LSU from very far away. Low contrast. The white jerseys were too white and needed proper stripes and larger numbers. The skinny numbers, especially the smaller ones in front were hard to read. The white pants were dreadful. LSU wore old-gold pants for many decades in the 30's-40's-50's era. It would have been a better look. The cut of the uniform was stylish enough, no problem there. I wonder if the players liked the new padding.
I am sure the light-weight material was a plus and I also had no problem with the styling. Bring back the old uniforms with the light-weight material and styling of the new ones and you would have a winner.
i am really surprised the amount of people that liked that sh!t-gold color. i grew up watching the LSU baseball team in those legendary YELLOW jerseys, and it's etched into my mind. LSU has been purple and yellow toooooo long to go about with change now, imo, of course. i just think that the school colors should, at the very least, stay the same. think about how many national championships were won with that color "gold." it's unlike any other color in college football. why go to a traditional gold that so many other teams have? when i think of LSU i think of the purple and yellow. i'm sure many other OPPOSING fans feel the same way. those colors are distinctive. don't eff with success.
