Be prepared for only 2-3 UNC players really out for the game. This 16-17 out is just the ESPN spin monster setting the stage for if they end up with 4-6 out that the game is a big let down on the hype, and should LSU not win by 14+ pts that we would have lost should UNC been full strength.
Game is on the ESPN family of networks. Why would they be trying to pull people AWAY from the matchup? Because if UNC has 14-18 guys out, that's exactly what will happen.
We'll play whoever lines up in front of us. I could care less who plays for UNC, I want LSU to win. Tired of hearing about it and I agree with whats stated above, I doubt 17 players will be kept out of the game.
I think, and I'm only guessing here because it was unclear, that his point was that ESPN is overstating the numbers so that when the actual casualty total is lower than that, it'll soften the blow? As I interpreted it, his point is that ESPN is exaggerating so the viewer expects the worst for the match up then is pleasantly surprised. I disagree with this theory, but I think that's what he was getting at.
Greg Little is out as well as Austin: North Carolina receiver Greg Little won't travel with Tar Heels for LSU game | NOLA.com Little was the other player involved with the agent from UNC. No word on any of the cheating players yet.
I hate to say it, but I think the fact this is the Kickoff Classic or whatever, will mitigate the suspensions. It does no good to have the "classic" as a showcase for a bunch of second stringers running amok. Wish I was not this cynical, but I am. Nevertheless it will not affect the outcome, LSU is and has been a sure thing since this was announced, but the game will be more compelling with a full complement or near full complement for the HEELS. By the way, EARL was a non-event, but thanks for the kind thoughts.
