That doesn't exactly work in Obama's favor.

Obama was trying to clarify himself about his remarks yesterday. He said that the 1967 borders were a starting point to go from. This seems to be a little diffrent from his earlier remarks.
He is in a bad position. The far left is no fan of isreal. Jews in the US are a major contribuor to democrats. He has to try and keep both sides happy.

Bush may have been a dumbass at public speaking but he did stand by his convictions no matter what the political consequences. This president has to keep up the morale of his base and not appear to be a leftist to the independents. He has to try to appear pro isreal all the while keeping up appearences to the Muslim world. It's not an easy job I'm sure.
What I do believe, if Obama gets reelected the gloves will come off. He will not moderate his stances for the sake of his fellow democrats seeking reelection to congress. He proved that he was willing to sacrafice seats in congress to promote his healthcare bill. Several congressmen lost their seats because of their support for obamacare. They were told that without their support they could expect primary opponets supported by the whitehouse. Once Obama gets reelected he will push the most anti isreal, pro union, anti business effort ever seen in this country. He will push, as he did with healthcare, his left wing ideological vision of the country with contempt for all that confront him, with absolutely no regard to the electability of moderate democrats in swing districts.
Disclaimer: this is my opinion and I made it up red.

its like we are talking about who will win the world series, and instead of pitching depth or something that matters, you keep mentioning ugly uniforms. who cares?

public figures do and say stupid things. its completely insignificant.

not renewing the bush tax cuts. this is tremendously destructive. national health care, it mangles the global economy.

(but obama has been pretty good on foreign policy)

His Afghanistan War policy has been fine, but his foreign policy sucks. Unless you feel that groveling and appeasement is good foreign policy.

you may be right about appeasement to some extent, although i am not sure what you are talking about. but for the most part he has just continued bush policy, and bush was one the best war poly/foreign relations presidents of all time.

barry ran on an anti-war platform, acted like he would reverse all the bush stuff, bring troops back really fast, close guantanamo. he was lying of course, that isnt feasible. so he has been very good in that dept. although really all he has needed to do was not to diverge too much from the genius path laid out by bush, who really cannot be praised enough for a basically flawless management of the world.

once the top secret briefings started he had no choice but to change his positions to meet the reality of the real world. I bet it was one hell of a shock to Obama and he was very disapointed that he couldn't do what he said before he was elected.

He has treated our 2 staunchest allies (Britain and Israel) like red-headed step children.
