Saw this on deepouthsports.net. Here is the map from Bama country to Shreveport. Every fan will have to drive under the billboard on their way to the game.:hihi: View attachment 10389
Unfortunately for traveling Bammers, the billboard is a couple of miles north of I-20 right across from ULM. I would be happy to put in for another one though.
AH you beat me to it. Miami of Ohio was, indeed in 1986. That was my first game in Tiger Stadium. My mom and dad went, and my mom was like 8 months pregnant for me :thumb: . Only if the weather and outcome would have been better. Ah the times i will never forget! And as for The Orange Storm in 1982. There is a cool video on the "Greatest Moments" site "It may never rain in Tiger Staduim, but on this night, it rained Oranges."
It was 1986 when we lost Miami. We had just beat a top 5, over-hyped, ESPN girlfriend Texas A&M in the first game of that series. It rained. The 1982 team, which played Nebraska in the 1983 Orange Bowl, lost to Tulane in Tiger Stadium the week after blasting Florida State for the Miami Bid.
When you say Big-12 fans, I assume you mean Oklahoma fans. If that's the case, tell them it's not our fault that they lost to Colorado, who was beaten by Kansas State, who was beaten soundly by Auburn. If that's not enough, wait till after the Indy Bowl if by some chance Bama ends up beating Colorado... that oughta shut em up.
No, the year we lost to Miami of Ohio was 1986 when Arnsparger was coach. We went on to win the SEC but lost to Nebraska in the Sugar Bowl. Stovall was the coach for the Florida State/Orange Bowl "winner" game in 1982. The Florida State year was 1982 and we lost the next week to Tulane. Edit: Sorry, everyone had already correct this.....may bad.
