Auburn is not very good and have returned to the team we thought they would be. LSU needs to win this game by 17 or more next weekend. That's the barometer I am putting on this game to guage the rest of the season. I do agree this is a critical juncture in Les Miles career at LSU. A loss and we're destined for another down year and the calls for his head will get much louder. Much louder. A resounding win and we can get back on track and try to beat Alabama and possibly even win the West and get a 2nd shot at a beatable Florida team. I expect a resounding win.
Auburn winning or losing today does not mean anything nor does it make any difference for "us" next week. LSU just needs to go out a there and play good football, the rest will take care of itself.
I think to start the year, no one knew what Auburn ran on offense because of zero tape on them. They use a lot of misdirection, and they run the ball a LOT more than you would expect a team pumping out a lot of offensive numbers to.
I think if we lose this game, it will be the beginning of a downward spiral like we have not seen since 98. If we can't beat this team, how are we going to beat Alabama or Ole Miss or Arkansas? It could get ugly. However, if we play a convincing game and come out on top, I think it could send things moving in the right direction again. This game is very important, IMO.
No kidding. Florida struggles to beat Arky which translates to they suck more than we thought so that means we suck more than we thought. Auburn loses to Kentucky so suddenly LSU is worlds better than Auburn (a "tough game" 2 weeks ago) and if we don't destroy them, we suck donkey dicks. Is it only me that sees the stupidity of this line of thinking?
Margin of victory means doodley squat. 14 one point wins out of 14 games means you are Nat'l Champs. Just because the barners got beat by UK doesn't necessarily reflect how the outcome of our game should be. In 2000 Moo U knocked of Spurrier's Gators. We got hammered by UF and beat Moo U in OT later that year. What does UF losing to Miss ST tell you? Nothing. I do expect to see better offense production and hope that our defense will continue to show improvement. We could lose this game and knock off Bama later in the season. Such is college football. Look at the 93 Tigers knocking off undefeated Bama.
I love living in Baton Rouge!!! If we win this game by 17 I am happy! If we lose this game it's the beginning of the end!!! How bout we go to the game and cheer and if we win 3 to 2 be happy about being 6 and 1!!! We then beat down Tulane and we are 7 and 1! In normal football towns they would be pulling down the goal post to be in the top 10 and 7 and 1. In this town they are ready to turn on the coach! We don't talk about what if we lose the game because I don't deal with a loose well. You can play mind games if you want about how if we lose it will be like 98 if you want!!!
