i think you can assume he meant as good as a leader as he's been around. the question wasnt about how talented he was.
In Oregon, we wouldn't get in trouble. It's illegal to be in possession of weed, not to be under the influence (Which we would be, because the contact high would be incredible!). Weed is everywhere up here, and I'm pretty sure it's viewed quite a bit differently than down there in the south (Assuming you are indeed from the south). We'd have to build quite a few more jails to house everyone, if the police arrested everyone in the manor in which you speak (Arrest them all, and let the judge sort it out). That being said, the real criminal here is the state trooper, who didn't search the car after having probable cause. Who knows if he would have found anything or not. It wasn't shown on the tape, but I'm also curious if both Harris and his cousin were frisked before they did their field sobriety tests. I've been frisked in the past for less (Albeit, it was in Los Angeles, not rural Oregon). I think it's a safety thing for the troopers. I'm not surprised that the tape was released. The Oregonian has been less than favorable towards the Ducks. They've been that way since Oregonian columnist John Canzano was told off by Mike Belloti's wife at Autzen over some inappropriate statements Canzano made in an article regarding the Belloti's marital issues. Just as many issues are going down at Oregon State, but they get next to no coverage, because it doesn't sell papers, or get blog clicks. I'm not condoning what Harris and other's did. But I was in college at 21, and did some stupid chit. We learn from it, and move on with our lives.
So you'd suspend a player who didn't do anything wrong? Who was neither accused, or convicted of a crime? That's pretty harsh. Chip Kelly has shown in the past that he's not afraid to discipline high profile players. Maybe, JUST MAYBE, Chip Kelly knows more about the details of the situation than you do, and that he's doing things the right way. Maybe, JUST MAYBE, he's not influenced by the media and others calling for unjust punishments for the athletes, and disciplines his players fairly, and appropriately. You say "It's all on video, it's all right there!" Tell that to Rodney King.
I think you responded to to the wrong post, or you are so caught up in defense mode it didnt make sense to you, I didnt say anything about video, all I said was that if Chip Kelly doesnt suspend his Staring QB, he will be scrutinized, which he already is, jeez, and you say I need anger management :dis: And BTW, where I come from, the passenger goes down with the driver,
The video part was satire. Why would Kelly suspend a player that didn't do anything? I'm getting fed-up with all the suspension talk regarding Thomas. Good guys get caught up in bad situations sometimes. People are making him guilty by association. I've said it before, Kelly has proven that he's not afraid to suspend, and kick high profile players from the team. Because he has that track record, I trust that he's making the correct decisions.
