    Great logic.

In fact, let's throw a party at your house and invite all the people we know who smoke and you & I will sit and watch. After it gets really under way we will call the cops and just explain that we were mere bystanders and didn't partake. Let's see what happens...by your reasoning we will be let off scott-free.

Sure, it's not illegal to be around illegal substances but I can assure you an officer will either ticket you or arrest you and let the legal system sort it out.

On the other note, Darren Thomas is a significant public figure in the State of Oregon. If you really believe it would not have eventually been released by a snooping reporter of some sort than you are delusional.

This is the whole "This isnt my car, I just borrowed it from a friend" epsiode on cops, or when the cops find drugs in your pocket, "these aint my shorts, I borrowed them from a friend" "I didnt know that was in there"

Where I come from, you get pulled over for going 118mph, and the car smells of weed, EVERYBODY goes to jail. EVERYBODY, of course I live in Texas and we execute for basically anything - so -

But all that aside, If that were Mo Claiborne and Jefferson, both would have been suspended for atleast the season opener, if not longer or even worse.

And that goes for SEVERAL other schools as well, but all in all, I dont want DT to be suspended, im upset that Harris is suspended, I want Oregon at thier best

So Chip Kelly, do what you do, reinstate Harris and give DT a slap on the wrist, its about teaching those kids to win football games, not about humility or the real world. What a great leader that Chip is! :thumb:

It could get them in trouble, but the thing that might save them is the fact that they paid the girl for the the car, None of them were old enough to rent it.

I think it just adds to the list of problems they are already in.

Kelly will be scrutinized for not dishing a serious enough suspension, but what is he supposed to do?

Suspend his starting QB for what could possibly be the biggest game of the season and run the risk of losing his shot at a BCSNCG just to set an example to the players and parents and the rest of the nation that what Thomas and Harris did was unacceptable behavior and will not be tolerated by the school or football program.....nah come on man......they have a game to win....

Let me get this straight. When Chip is asked to describe Darren Thomas' leadership qualities Chip's response is, and I quote, "He's as good as I've been around." So, with that logic, being "good" makes you a leader. I guess in Oregon being "good" makes you a leader, keeps you out of trouble with the authorities AND keeps you on the field no matter how many times you're in the wrong place at the wrong time. That IS outstanding leadership and admirable qualities usually associated with future felons. Would not want my son playing for this guy. :dis:

Looks like Chip's been smoking some of his boys good stuff.
Well done Chip...now take a drag and pass it on...oh that's right...they smoked it all. :insane:
