UGA VII dies | ajc.com The cause of death was an apparent heart attack, longtime sideline reporter Loran Smith told the AJC. "Uga has gone the way of all great bulldogs....up in the sky," Smith said. Uga VII, named "Loran's Best" after the announcer, made his sideline debut on Aug. 30, 2008 in the Bulldogs' game vs. Georgia Southern. He compiled a record of 16-7 during his tenure, the shortest for any in the Uga family.
$5 says Richt made a sacrifice of UGA VII to the Football gods in return for a winning season next year, if he is here.
UGA VII died this morning Not exactly LSU but I think as a school with a live mascot we can somewhat understand an unexpected death of your beloved mascot. UGA VII was only serving in his 2nd season. (Sorry mods, this can be merged with Deceks in College Sports)
i heard that while listening to espn while out running errands yesterday. we know what its like to have a live mascot that is loved by the fans georgia went through this just a couple of years ago, so this uga could not have been very old. i hope he had some good litters to pick from. for some reason, i thought i read that their uga's are from the same lineage and one of his pups will be his successor?
man seems like this little guy just became UGA. oh well, he's biting AU players in doggie heaven now.
They all come from the same blood line and the same family owns them all, but I don't know each one is the father of it successor.
