Rich Franklin said he is freakishly strong for his size and it would be interesting to see him move up a weight class.

I'm interested to see how he'd do up in weight class as well.

Also, Koscheck done messed up Hazelett. That was a phenomenal finish.

Yeah, you could tell he wasn't too happy about his performance, either. Though the guy he fought wasn't exactly a pushover. Either way, I expected better and that is not indicative of his past fights. I expect the next one to be a good one - and it should, since it will probably be a title fight.

Could be wrong, but I think it is Elite XC that got the deal, not UFC.

For those schooled in the MMA world, that's the league with Kimbo. They want their 1st show to be in April with Kimbo as the main event fight.

    Talk about ratings.

This is how they can catch up to UFC in the ratings world, because Kimbo is the biggest MMA draw in the world, easily.

ahh yes, i heard it as a passerby. the more competition the better.

i began watching ufc since day 1 and to think dana white bought it for a million just a couple years ago baffles me. thats almost as good as steinbrenner buying the yanks in the 70s for nothing. like 10 mill. ok not quite as good as that.:lol: my dad was a gold glove champ back in younger days but he loved mma long ago when i made it aware to him per ppv.

thats why im a pretty big fight fan. obviously hes a huge boxing fan so i wasnt sure he'd like it.

very very smart. its like buying the rights to the olympics for all your other programming. this will work out well for them. can they sustain it though:?

friend of mine is a camera-lady for reality tv shows, and she spent 18-24 months on the Ultimate Fighter, so as a result, she is a good friend of Dana White.

She got us tickets on the "owner's row" when they came to Houston. When we got to the hotel connected to the Toyota Center, he called us himself to see if we made it there okay.

One of the best weekends of my life.

We plan to go to an event during the summer if they have one semi-close to here.

I, like you, like fighting in general.

From boxing to WWE to MMA, etc... anything involving men fighting (or pretending to fight) I like.

With that being said, I was talking to my buddies about this the other day.

Kimbo: Should he be a boxer? He has iron fists and with a little training, imo, can sweep the pathetic heavyweight division and "save" boxing.

In MMA, he is good, but I am not a believer until he actually is on the ground and someone is on top of him. I think the real "fighters" will submit him.

i hadnt even thought of this but have agreed with it all along meaning no way kimbo can dominate the division due to limited skills but could absolutely handle most hvyweights in boxing and make a huge name for himself.

ie, lennox lewis with a personality and land-based (US street fighter) for insane money.

Agree. Kimbo is a brawler, plain and simple. Sure, he's big and strong and powerful, but that's about all he's got. He doesn't have half the speed of the top UFC fighters, nor the skills. He'd tire quickly and wouldn't stand a chance when put on the ground.

Then again, if he somehow can get his ground fighting techniques down (which, personally, I just don't see happening), he could be a force. But again, I doubt that.

Brock Lesnar on the otherhand.....stand by.
