They have overturned almost every ejection this season. I don't like the entire way in which they are handling this.
I think he's arguing that since he didn't hit helmet to helmet you shouldn't eject a player. And I agree. Unless you look like a headhunter, then and only then you should be ejected. It should look quite obvious. But these receivers start to duck to brace for the hit in most cases and the hit looks a lot worse than it actually is.
Like I said, it's a bullshit rule, but they're going to enforce it strictly until it's the Gumps' secondary.
With the NFL creeping toward a flag football league, this rule isn't going anywhere. The only thing the rules committee may do is get rid of the automatic ejection in the offseason.
that's the part I don't like, plus it slows down the game Just make a decision right there on the spot. If it looks like he was headhunting, eject him and don't review it.
There were 3 ejections for targeting in the conference so far. In addition to this on players from both Ga and USCe were hit with penalties AND ejections. I don't see that it made a difference in the UF/Mizoo game because the gator o is so putrid, but the other 2 were close. Interesting how the 3 teams with ejections all lost.
