No one has said it isn't a great accomplishment. It is without a doubt. It just isn't the same thing and should not be lumped into the mens game. They have their record and they are entitled to it just the same as the UCLA mens team is entitled to theirs. They should both hold their own merit for what they are.

Don't you find it curious that Auriemma has never been a serious candidate for a men's job? I posted this earlier in the thread, but no one responded. He obviously knows what he's doing and can recruit, but he's never been sought out nor expressed interest in competing at a higher level.

To be fair, when UCLA did it, there wasn't much parity in men's basketball either. Kentucky was on a downward swing and it was the end of Rupp's dominance. UCLA was THE team back then for a span of over 10 years. Kentucky was still pretty good. Kansas was okay. NC State was decent. North Carolina was building up under Dean Smith. It's really no different than what we see with UConn today. They are THE team. Tennessee is pretty good. Stanford and Baylor are good. Truthfully, there's UConn, then about 5 or 6 other really good teams, and that's it. Barring injury or horrible massively horrible play, they won't lose until next season sometime when they no longer have a Maya Moore who's capable of dropping 40.

I understand it's "just" women's basketball, but this feat is no less incredible than UCLA's streak. They're destroying their competition, just like UCLA did. Their competition is other women's teams, not men's teams. Of course a team of skilled men would beat them.

How can any of you in one breath call the comparison to UCLA apples and oranges, then turn right around in the next breath and talk about how bad a team of high school men would beat them...apples and oranges right? Just say you don't respect womens' basketball, and be done.

I don't respect womens basketball. It is slow, sloppy, and un-watchable.

done!!! on an ironic note Notre Dame beat UCLA and started their streak then was the team to end it. Stanford beat UCONN and started their streak then ended it.

They snuck that winning streak in there. Nothing else to play for so they lost. It was probably a monkey on their back anyway.
