no offense to kent state and UCI (although irvine had a decent season,) but it's mainly tough simply because of UCLA and LSU. UCLA kind of fizzled out when we did (albeit not nearly as badly,) but both seem to be playing better ball with LSU playing the best it has been all season long. they got hot at the right time just like great Tigers teams of the past. i was so pissed when they announced LSU would be going to los angeles, but now that i've had a chance to think about it, bring them on! if LSU continues playing the way they have the last 6-7 games (save that last game against State,) i say bring ANYONE on. the way everyone has been hitting, the way we have been pitching, fielding.... we're just playing good ball right now and i'm definitely the type of person who enjoys really great, close ball games. that championship game against Bama was one of the best played games i think that i've seen this season. seems like every time LSU had a huge hit, bama would come up and take it away with a great play just to have LSU still come through with a clutch hit. and the pitching. ranaudo was simply clutch, looking like he did last season. actually reminded me of coleman a bit, hitting those same spots louis was hitting last season.

Jackie Robinson Stadium is a pitchers park at night and a hitters park in the daytime.

JRS goes both ways. At night, the air gets really heavy and the ball just doesn’t carry at all. I’ve seen balls absolutely crushed at night and not even make it to the warning track. The dimensions are a bit on the small side so when it’s a day game, it leans hitter’s park.

    Dimensions 330/370/395/370/330

Anyone else think the defending national champions who are SEC tournament champions and a 30 plus win team kind of got disrespected by being sent to Los Angeles?

No. Our last half of the season made us have to travel. We're a number 2 seed. And the California teams have had to travel to BR in the past so this is payback.

Now, financially, I bet the selection committee wishes that we had been good enough to host.

Yes, but I am actually happy about it. Our boys never play out west and I can finally get to go see them. It may sound selfish, but I am excited to get to go.

I don't think the last half of the season warranted us a hosting spot, but all the way to Los Angeles? Why not Texas or east somewhere? We are LSU not Cal State Irvine?

Don't get me wrong, i want to see us smoke some Cali teams, but i really think LSU was disrespected.

Oh, I agree with you on both statements, but I am happy that I get the opportunity to see them. As I said they never play out west, and I am excited to get to see them. Going back home to watch football games is one thing, going back home as opposed to driving 4 1/2 hrs for baseball is another. One I can sell to the wife and can afford, the other not so much.
