This from the newspaper written by a conservative black columnist. At the University of Illinois, a professor was admonished for marking on a student's paper where the student had spelled the word indigenous with a capital I. While correct usage would say that unless the word started a sentence it should properly be spelled with a lower case i the professor had "stifled the feeling of what the word indigenous meant to him." Another microagression is that if you are a white person and you are in a room full of all white people you are guilty of insensitivity because if a person of another race enters the room and sees only white people he might feel uncomfortable.
I don't remember the name of the columnist but it was in yesterday or the day before Advocate on the editorial page.
