Re: Loston Ready to Play, Jury out on Shep If you think this about Shep the rest of those poor sum bitches must be terrible in your eyes. IMO Shep was the best player on the field if given the whole game he would have dominated....and that's against the nations best highschool players!
Re: Loston Ready to Play, Jury out on Shep WOW, you sure are clever. I don't know how I'll ever win a battle of wits with such a MASTERMIND as yourself. :rolleye33::hihi: They believe he CAN be good, and so do I. It's yet to be determined if they believe he'll be a game-changer in his freshman year, however, and that's all this discussion is about.
Re: Loston Ready to Play, Jury out on Shep LOL...we must not have watched the same game. He was outclassed by AT LEAST two other QBs at his position, and didn't distance himself from any of the rest. And I still ask the question...who would you take off the field to let him play?
Re: Loston Ready to Play, Jury out on Shep Hey you said it not me. I just dont understand how you can support Lee because the coaches backed him, but not Shepard because the coaches back him. You cant judge him on 1 all star game. That wasnt too clever at all. Just a bit confused about that. I dont expect you to clarify that. Your initial post said nothing about you thinking Shep will be a good player, just this post.
Re: Loston Ready to Play, Jury out on Shep Because Shep is fast and elusive I could see using him on a series of gadget plays. You could put him and Jefferson in the game at the same time to keep the defense honest against the pass. You could lateral or run a reverse to Shep and have him throw a halfback pass or pass off of the reverse. You could put him and Holiday in the game at the same time and set up a double reverse or fake reverse. This way the defense wouldn't be able to key only on Holiday when he is in the game.
Re: Loston Ready to Play, Jury out on Shep Blame that on whoever was subbing QB's for the black team. That was ridiculous. At least Barkley got a chance to get in a rhythm.
Re: Loston Ready to Play, Jury out on Shep This scenario may be the best example of what we can do with him, but would the use of it be worth burning his redshirt? We can wait a year to start with that. Maybe Crowton will be the first coach to experiment with a two-QB set. Line them up side-by-side and let defenses guess which one got the snap. :hihi:
Re: Loston Ready to Play, Jury out on Shep The subbing system they used WAS ridiculous, but Barkely started out in a rhythm. He'll be the next overhyped Heisman candidate for the Trojans. And pitiful subbing system or not, I was WAY more impressed with that kid that's going to Texas...third in the Black rotation. Guys, I'm not saying he's a bum. I'm just saying that I can't see how he'll be a factor next year. He's not ready as a QB and really no more gifted as a runner than the runners we have. Other than gadgetry, which I pray we don't need, I don't see how he can really have an impact NEXT YEAR.
Re: Loston Ready to Play, Jury out on Shep JJ at QB, Shep at Wide out along with RR...the combination of Reverses and Double reverses, and HB passes are endless.
Re: Loston Ready to Play, Jury out on Shep Best QB prospect in the nation. Shep will be fine because he has time to learn.
