yes he did. doubled the last hole yet still set a record after first 2 rounds. he was 10 up over second place heading into the final hole. this is tiger'esque masters like. speaking of masters, wasnt rory up heading into the turn and lost by 10 strokes? thats a freaking meltdown. he will need this lead just to stay afloat heading into the final round.
I'm at work and only got to see the last two holes. He's playing more like Tiger's performance at Pebble in what 2000 where he was the only player under par and beat Els as I recall by a bunch. I suspect he learned from the disaster in April. We'll know in a little more than 48 hours.
david toms +7 kj choi +10 kevin na +13 (i just mentioned him b/c hes the dude who carded a 16 on one hole awhile back) [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWTXoNzuk8c]YouTube - Kevin Na finds trouble Round 1 of Valero Texas Open (2011) [/ame] lefty and luke +1 I picked sergio in a pool because hes actually been putting well but hes at -2. (rory -11)
I think McIlroy learned a lot at Augusta. He damn sure has the game and he's been in contention enough that I think he can stand up to the mental heat. I think the key to his chances are how he plays tomorrow. I look for some really tough pins tomorrow.
he learned he is greg norman's successor once sunday rolls around. dude also spit the bit the second day of the british didnt he? nice dude though and I like pulling for him so i hope he wins. I just wonder if hes too nice.
