Mom says not a factor but make way for Tebow ? http://www.gainesville.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20051209/GATORS01/51209027/-1/news
This could go either way for Tebow. Either he sees it as an easier passage to being the starter, or he sees other players being unhappy with the way Meyer utilizes them... I don't think Portis is leaving because of Tebow though.
Any idea where he might land ? I thought Portis was going to be "the guy" for Myer's system ? Go figure.
Of course he isn't. I would agree that, especially in light of the offensive issues that Florida has had this year, he hasn't been given a fair shot to run the offense. Portis probably feels betrayed. He might want to go back home to California as well.
Somewhere in California (as Deek mentioned) would be my guess, perhaps Cal or UCLA. He said nowhere in the SEC...
The wild card here is Brent Schaeffer. While the local FL media has been hush hush on the Schaeffer thing its no secret that Meyer has seen him and supposedly offered. Portis wouldnt be feeling too good about UF briging in a JUCO. Quit frankly I think this may very well help Alabama get Tebow but who knows. Just a guess.
I wonder what Tebow thinks of Urban Meyer's system you see how Chris Leaks stock has dropped ever since the new offense was in place. Leak did not play to his best because that offense was not his style.
I have always said on here that Josh Portis was going to be the great fit for Meyer's system. Guess I was wrong. So for Brent Schaeffer, is it down to Florida and Ole Miss?
More insight into why Portis left Portis Speaks Wow, they actually wanted him to learn the plays. There was rumor that Meyer was a scrict disciplinarian, but damn that is harsh! :hihi: If that really is the attitude he has toward playing football he is never going to see the field at a major college.
Re: More insight into why Portis left Portis ended up transferring to Maryland, in case any one was interested. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/12/18/AR2005121800850.html
