They have in him the wrong scheme, 30 tackles and 1 sack isnt a stellar season in the NFL as a top 5 pick. I know its hard to compare the two, but look at Matt Ryan.
Dorsey played a LOT better in the last half of the season compared to the first. His first half play had major bust written all over him, his last half was very promising. He took a lot of criticism for poor fundamentals, especially foot work, that was blamed on bad coaching. After half a season of NFL coaching he showed a nice improvement. He should get better and develop as long as he progresses on his fundamentals. Tyson Jackson may have similar attributes.
Todd McShay had him at #3 if the Lions can't get Stafford under contract before the draft. Curry said he would take less money. That makes the Top-5 Curry, Smith, Jackson, Dirty Sanchez, Stafford. I would not want to be a team with a high pick this year and have to pay a marginal player top money. Crabtree is the only guy to get excited over.
Jackson going in the top 10 only helps LSU in recruiting, no matter who thinks he wont pan out. The guy just might.
happy for tyson obviously but how crazy is that hes shooting up the charts simply because theres hardly anyone at his position plus hes a hybrid so they thinik. cash that check quickly, t-dog. he may be decent.
he'll be a good player. obviously de's in a 3-4 are like lb's - there are a million of them and very few stick out, but ti doesnt mean they arent doing their jobs. unless you are stacked as a team it makes no sense to draft one that high considering he is plugging a gap and very few are great pass rushers. its not that tyson wont be a good player, but he certainly isnt a game changing player. he will probably do well in his role. a role that doesnt require a top 10 pick.
