What Jackson needs to realize is this will be HIS defensive line next year. Just like this was Dorsey's year and the standout player. Jackson can take all the preseason accolades in 08, and believe me they will come in bunches, and make the most of it, have a great year, and possibly end up a top 10-15 draft choice, versus a 2nd or 3rd round pick the coming year.
I got to think it will be Jai Eugune and Chris Hawkins. We also have Phelon Jones, John Williams and Stefoin Francois pushing for playing time and will be in nickel and dime packages.
Oh ok, well is it conceivable to think Chad Jones and Taylor will play along side of each other. Cause Taylor has a stick and he could play SS, while Jones play FS.
Well they played alongside each other this year. Taylor played FS and Jones spelled Steltz at SS. Jones is the much bigger hitter, which is what you want at SS, someone who can jam the box and help stop the run as well as blitz the QB and put a punishing hit on him (I recall he did that in a couple of crucial situations this year). I don't think Jones was ever slated to play FS, even as we recruited him. What does "Taylor has a stick and could play SS mean?". I'm not aware he plays baseball, is that what you mean? Has a stick (bats well) and can play SS (shortstop).
Hell...he doesn't have to wait for the NFL, I could tell him what one glaring weakness is: QUIT GETTING FLAGGED FOR PERSONAL FOULS THAT EXTEND OPPONENTS' DRIVES, TYSON!!!!! Naturally, I think returning for his Sr. season will help him tramendously the way it did for Spears and especially for LaRon and Dorsey. He's NOT going to be a top 15 pick this season....but he really could be next year.
He needs to keep his azz in school...I don't know why he's even thinking about the NFL since he had a very dissapointing season.
