QUESTION: did any see Dre Kirkpatrick grabbing Tyran's face mask earlier in the game, I heard that Doug M. noted that during the radio broadcast but I have not seen any confirmation.

My two cents - I don't think Tyran was being malicious, he didnt target the helmet or neck, Dre busted his head on the field turf causing the injury. This is just blown out of proportion because Tyran is Tyran and likes to talk so people assumes he is dirty.

The ducks were the same way as bama fans. Lsu didn't create the turnovers that the ducks made, it was "mistakes".
The ducks made a mistake not running their fast paced offense, not that the lsu defense took that away from them.
The ducks didn't say lsu was better, just that mistakes were made and that in a rmatch , they would win. Same as the gumps.

Atleast I can say that auburn, yes hated auburn, gave lsu credit. Moo state gave credit also. Not a gump. Not a duck. Well all except gdf, he's honestly cool. You can bet your arse that Ohio state, USC, ou and Texas wouldn't give credit either because they are better than swamprat redneck Louisiana trash. Atleast that's how they make me see it.
Even Florida admitted lsu was the better team. Never from a gump. Never except from very few, like tusk and the reverend that chimed in after the game.
I lost lots of respect for the ducks after they didn't give lsu credit. Miles should start running up the score on these teams as much as possible and blitz their arse until the very last play. Only teams that deserve mercy should be shown any.

They were away from the play and he hit Kirkpatrick from behind. It was a dirty cheap shot any way you look at it. You can justify any way you want to if it makes you feel better.

Congratulations on a big win. If Alabama doesn't get another shot, I hope you guys win it all. Good Luck.

And you can vilify him all you want if it makes you feel better about Bama's loss. I happen to think it was simply an over-zealous mistake made in a spilt-second by a highly-talented athlete while running at full speed in an extremely tense situation. And the Tigers were heavily penalized for it.

This character assassination drama is getting old.

    It's over. Move on.

It looked bad. I watched it on a big screen tv, high definition. Nothing fuzzy. Looked bad. Not really sure where those who are saying it wasn't bad are coming from. It looked bad enough that LSU had what could have been a killer penalty. Bad enough that the CBS crew called it selfish. Bad enough that the Bama fans are up in arms. Maybe there is an angle out there that shows it wasnt as bad as it looked at first, but I havent seen it.

For any Bama fans reading this, not all LSU fans are happy about that play. As far as I'm concerned with that play and the suspension he has two strikes. Third strike is out. Remember the guy who chop blocked Dorsey? Thuggery is thuggery. Its not okay to give someone a pass just because they wear your colors.

Of course if there is an angle showing its not as bad as it looked, then its still only one strike.

Really? So that is a technique that the team practices now? Load up, grab a guy across the chest and spin him?

Someone should have sent this to boomer so it could have made it to C'mon man prior to the MNF game.

If this is true, then Les should confirm it to the media..ie that TM was executing a taught technique that went a little wrong. If this wasnt a cheap shot and Les can confirm it, then he should. In that case I'd give props to TM for manning up to an apology and feel a lot better about his LSU future.

Take a look at the following two posts from an earlier thread to see the play again :

    http://forums.tigerfan.com/tigers-den/107587-tm7-foul-3.html#post1252121

    http://forums.tigerfan.com/tigers-den/107587-tm7-foul-4.html#post1252571

I think it is pretty clear (especially after TM's quote about a technique) that he was trying to hit him on the front right shoulder to throw him off balance which if executed correctly will not get a block in the back penalty. The problem was he grabbed the jersey and got a holding penalty, not that he tried to push him on the front of his shoulder (which is where he hit him, not in the neck).

And yes, I think that he was definitely correct in trying to make a legal play on the guy and not just letting him through. If he has a shot to slow him down legally (which he was trying to do but held him), then he better damned well do it to try to save his punt returner from getting creamed. Watch the video and you see the penalty happened before the ball was even close to being caught so TM better not just give up on the play and let the guy zip though if there is a way to slow him down.
