Actually, I would agree with everything you said above except your faulty assumption in the first 6 words above. IF I'm supposedly "hating on him", so are you. I point specifically to "what he lacks as a cover corner", that is the only negative thing I have said about the guy....well on the field play anyway. IMO, it would be nice if Coach Miles somehow got his twitter account suspended. :D

THIS!!! And something you didn't bring up, I think you and I would agree that LSU's pass rush last year was much better when either he or Ron Brooks rushed the passer. And yes, I'm taking into account that would be bringing one extra player. My point is that a blitz with either Brooks or Mathieu was better than any other blitz they ran last season.

As said, he had a lot of trash-talking going on & he needed to close the yap and channel that energy into the plays. That said, who would not want a TM7 in their D-backfield, with his energy, his ability to root out the ball, to have that uncanny awareness of himself in the 4-D space (the up-down, left-right, front-back and time-frame) of the play action?

Name a defensive coaching staff that would not eat their own young for the chance to unleash this guy.

    --And he's OURS! Can't wait!
