If he had done truly bad things and not just smoked some weed I might not like him as much. But as it is he is the most electrifying player I've ever watched, and while he did let us down by not following the rules, I think those rules are dumb as fuck so ...

That's right TM gave up 9" to Graham and was playing out of position because the starting safety lost part of his finger. Most of Graham's catches were against LBs not TM32. He still had an Int and knocked Graham on his ass once or twice. Most of the time he and PP21 were on the same side of the field the Saints threw the other way.
I think that is a better measure than what someone 9" taller can do on a ball thrown out of your reach.

Don't forget to mention that 80 had a TD reception against P. Peterson also.

I also don't care about weed. Its not about weed. I am not saying he killed someone.
BUT the fact is you cannot smoke it and play college football (at least get caught) argue all you want about the rule but it is indeed a rule. Until that changes.
He knew it and LSU gave him every chance under the sun. That is my only beef as far as labeling him a "Great representative of LSU"
Sure he is one of the best pure football players I have ever seen. I was SO disappointed we didn't get to watch him but one year and he threw it all away.
But lets face it, there are 100s of kids each year who come from the same or worse backgrounds, and don't make some of the decisions he made.
His decisions hurt LSU pure and simple.

Also I am not rooting for him to fail. I want him to be a pro bowler. I hope he comes back to LSU and represents himself, helps kids also in trouble. I want him to be a part of the LSU nation for life like PP and others. I so enjoyed watching him play and still do.
My only issue and your right probably stupid is he did indeed hurt the LSU program and since I could care less about the NFL (for the most part) that is what disappointed.

I agree with Brett, I haven't enjoyed watching any 1 player as much as Tyrann Mathieu. He is the Floyd Mayweather of football (minus the mouth) The little guy that just electrifies. The most gifted natural instinctual pound for pound football player I have ever seen play. If Patrick Peterson had Ty's instincts he would be the greatest football player of all time. Plus you throw in the fact he plays with one of the 4 best corner's to ever play at LSU, and the best linebacker at LSU since Bradie James, how could one not root for the Cardinals. I root for the Saints don't get me wrong, but I'm more loyal to the boys that come from the hallowed grounds in Baton Rouge, and always will be.

Also I don't care about the rules when they are stupid as fuck. I'm not gonna blame him for doing something he probably grew up doing and was not a problem in his community. Plus I'd be a really big hypocrite and I think anyone who chastises this kid is unless they are just the perfect human being.

Watching the Cardinals-49ers game. Three guys making things happen here, big time, are Tyrann, Patrick P. and Eric Reid (for the opposition).

TM32 is all over the field, relentless, making defensive plays that are pulling praise out of the announcers.

LSU's people are shining & getting big mentions.
