All those teams that passed him up in the draft are sorely regretting it now. He ended up in the perfect place. Being mentored by PP21 and his family and just doing what he does best. Taking the ball away from the offense. He is amazing. I can see pro bowl and defensive MVP soon if he just keeps doing what he's doing.
We know he's been there, I'm glad to see him acting that way. His dedication and commitment are showing with this workmanlike attitude. I like it.
I just saw that on half time highlights. Awesome...kinda miss the honey badger hype, though. But he don't need that mess.
I'm pretty sure Patrick Peterson gave Arizona assurances that Tyrann was going to be ok and not be an "issue". So they more than gladly pulled the trigger in the 3rd round. Mathieu was easily first round material minus the "issues".
Mathieu was always at his best when he was hungry with something to prove. It was when the accolades started pouring in that he thought he was bulletproof. Right now the Cards are paying him peanuts coming out of the draft. The test for his long-term success will be what happens when he renegotiates for big-time $$$.
Dam. The timing had to be impeccable. Full sprint, fully extended, small window. Truly amazing. He still da Honey Badger.
