I was in a funeral procession Saturday afternoon, in my brother's fancy-dan truck with satellite radio, listening to a football summary show, so I don't know the channel, but after the KY game, the two guys hosting the show interviewed Tyrann Matheiu.

I feel sure it was an ESPN station, but I am not certain. During the course of the interview, the inevitable question was asked about Jordan Jefferson's return.

Among other remarks, TM7 stated (something like) "It is great to get our starting quarterback back" and something to the effect "Now that Jordan has hit his stride, ......" I was somewhat taken aback by these remarks, but the interviewer let them slide.

About 45 minutes later, the two talking heads did an entire segment on the inappropriateness of these remarks, and how such feelings by stars on the team could spell disaster, serving as a breeding ground for dissension, etc.

I returned home yesterday, figuring to see a thread, or seven, devoted to this gaffe, and did not find a thing.

Does a star such at TM7 get a free pass on this? Can't imagine.

I am sorry I don't have more specific info on station/show/minute this occurred.

Someone on TOS posted an actual transcript of what TM said, and it was more along the lines of "the team feels complete now that JJ is back." But many were taking it as him saying "his quarterback was back."

So, which was it? One remark shows they are a team; the other doesn't.

Does that mean fans are interpreting his comments that way? Are his teammates interpreting it that way? Or did he actually say "my quarterback is back."?

If what he said was "team feels complete now that JJ is back," there's no issue. A senior who was suspended under unfortunate circumstances has been allowed back on the team; of course they're glad to have him back. I see no problem with this.

I'm not sure which way TM said it. The thread of ranting on TOS made it seem bad until someone came on with what looked to be an actual transcript of the conversation, in which it seemed TM was simply happy a valued member of the team was back.

This is very disturbing to me. I know TM7 is just a Soph & may not know the full impact of his words, but sometimes his naive nature means the truth may come out more clearly.

Remember last year when there were rumors flying around that Miles had lost the team and there were a lot of locker room problems? Remember how that was all bs? There are no problems with the chemistry of this team. Stop reading into things.

I clearly do not remember every remark word for word, but I am 100% certain he used the phrase, now that "our starting quarterback is back"

I certainly hope this is a non-event, and it appears that it is. The PR people probably need a session or two, with him, that is all.

The one I watched over at lsusports.net during the postgame show was very *PC* and well 'coached'. I didn't catch any of the postgame on the internet radio (and didn't go out to truck or suv to listen on sirrus/xm.
