Sorry to say it, but the honey badger didn't have a good day. I think the notoriety from creating turnovers caused him to get a little overzealous in trying to make a play. On two separate occasions he tried to strip the ball instead of tackling the man. The first play resulted in about 15? yards extra from the receiver he was covering. On another play he could have tackled a receiver about 5 yards short of a first down and didn't. Again, I think he was too concerned with stripping the ball instead of just wrapping up the man and forcing a 4th down punt. His big plays are great, but he needs to be aware of the situation. Hopefully the coaches will point this out to him.
actually she might do him some good. he put on twitter she told him to shut up and play and all he could say was yes ma'am. as far as him talking noise, thats part of who he is you take that away you might lose some of his fire. Nobody tells Ray Lewis to stop talking. The best players have always fired off words so that they had to back something up on the field, its called staying motivated. Sometimes winning isnt always enough.
i don't think it's a good idea for a player to keep his eye on the heisman. team goals may suffer when individual goals are placed front and foremost. this team has the potential, as we all know, to be something really special. national champ is a lot more important than heisman.
Well since all the talk going on so strong this weekend I thought I would resurrect this thread I started after the Oregon game. Great to look back at the old posts! Here's the latest update: LSU Football (@LSUfball) 12/4/11 5:07 PM RT @LSUBonnette: In 25 career games, T. Mathieu has 11 forced fumbles,8 fumble recoveries,4 INTs,14 PBUs, & 4 TDs. #HoneybadgerforHeisman
