Laughable analysis, takes neither depth at skill position or line play into consideration. Offense, really? Both Bama and LSU avg nearly 40pts a game against everyone else. Both teams will get their wish, a shot at the big boyz. Unfortunately it will set their programs back about 10 years.

    I can't believe what I just read !!

Given time—and there is over five weeks of preparation between the Broncos’ final game of the regular season and the Jan. 9 BCS National Championship Game in New Orleans—Boise State would figure out a way to expose LSU’s mighty defense, too. The Broncos merely have one of the most prolific college quarterbacks ever (Kellen Moore); a tailback (Doug Martin) who will be selected in the first round of the NFL draft next April, and an experienced, cohesive offensive line.
Boise State will score on LSU. And here’s the key: The Broncos can cover in man situations on defense with CBs Jamar Taylor and Ebo Makinde, and have two big-hitting safeties (George Iloka and Cedric Febis) who can cheat to the line of scrimmage in run support against LSU’s power run game.
That leaves the game in the hands of LSU quarterbacks Jarrett Lee and Jordan Jefferson. And the more Boise State scores, the more pressure Lee and Jefferson have to make good decisions.
I can’t think of a coach in college football who wouldn’t want to be in that situation: forcing the LSU quarterbacks to beat you.

Lets face it, some people will never learn but this is one reason LSU should not play an SEC team in a bowl game or for the championship this year. I think its mainly jealousy but I am so tired to hear who is going to beat LSU or any top tier SEC team and for what reasons. When you look at the body of work of the SEC the last 8 years it speaks for itself. The other conferences don't come close, I am proclaiming the SEC the DYNASTY of the Decade like USC tried to do a few years ago. Everyone else including those homers can STFU. Put up or STFU! Bring on Boise St or Stanford and I hope Coach and this team out scores these teams by 100 points.

Not that any additional proof is needed, but Matt Hayes is a clueless idiot. The fact that he writes for Sporting News tarnishes the reputation of what was once a damn good sports magazine.

That's what Stoops and Richt said too. :hihi:

Relax ol fellar, they're just starting the hype in case. They'll change as fast as the Louisiana weather as soon as the scenario does.

If either Bama or LSU won by 2/3 touchdowns last weekend, none of this smack would exist. It is the verbal manifestation of complete ignorance as to how football games are really played, supposed by a bunch of of fans that got up the nerve to watch only one SEC game this year.

    Simple terms:
Your defense stops my offense and my offense stops your defense. One point is all it takes to win. Football is not a game of weighted average wins.

    Later,

I would feel pretty good about facing either Boise State or Stanford. In fact, I look forward to it. Or Okie State, doesn't really matter.

The one team that would make me worried is Alabama.
