Bama could lose as many as six next year: Arkansas, Georgia, Florida State, Tennessee, LSU, Auburn. I don't think they will lose all six, though. I'd bet on 7-5 or 8-4. 9-3 is a possiblity, but I don't think they are there yet. 6-6 is another possiblity, but I think they are better than that.
Best Bama can hope for is 8-4. They lose to FSU, GA (who will be much better next year), AU and LSU. They should lose to Tenn as well.
Just in case you've missed the news...Shula is no longer on the sidelines. The proverbial "cupboard" is far from bare.
Sure while Bama would steamroll through many other D-1 confrences....this is the SEC. LSU Auburn Florida Tennessee Georgia You have fun with that!
Perhaps, you should have directed that to others? I've pointed to the problems this team has dealt with for over 2 years now...on this very forum. And, those problems areas and those responsible for them are carrying around a pink-slip. I've already said I'm expecting 8-4, 9-3. Fact is, if Saban would have been on the sidelines last season the end result would have been dramatically different...as would '05. The defense will take some work...the offense returns virtually intact with someone who actually understands play-calling.
Actually, Terry knows it will be no better than 7-5. From a DEEP inside source here goes. Following Saban's hire, appointed supporters took him under cover of hood to a catacomb beneath the Tuscaloosa campus. There, in front of the preserved remains of Bear Bryant, a cow was sacrificed. With the blood poured on Saban, they emerged to count doves flying past the entrance shaft. Only 7 were seen.
